Square Enix version: The CD comes in a rather unusual, annoyingly shaped glossy cardboard packaging, which in turn comes in a rectangular clear plastic box measuring about 6.25 by 5 by 1.2 inches. A horizontal sticker on the front left side of the plastic box is meant to take the place of an obi, with the usual information that an obi would normally include. The CD is in a white cloth sleeve. There is no separate jewel case. Also comes with a Square Enix point card.
The fold-out liner notes have the tracklist in Japanese (kana) with English equivalents, which are not necessarily direct translations of the Japanese; a brief profile of Nobuo Uematsu; shots from the game; CGI artwork of some of the characters; and a message from Uematsu titled "A Reminiscence of Final Fantasy - Part 2," in both Japanese AND English, surprise surprise!
The tracklisting in the liner notes is in mixed Japanese (kana) and English. The Japanese names have their own English translations, which are in bold italics and are not necessarily literal ones. I've given the literal translations where applicable.
