    Contains music from the Gameboy Advance versions of FF4, FF5 and FF6. This is actually a promotional set and technically should go on the promos page, but there's so much in it that I decided to give it a separate page. According to Square Enix's page and from what others have said, this was a limited-edition box of 5,000 units, and you got it by sending in proofs of purchase from the Japanese versions of the FF5 and FF6 GBA games. (The pictures of the set on SE's page are preliminary shots; the actual set looks slightly different, and I believe the text right under the box picture says something to the effect of "the actual package design may differ from what you see above." Although, if that sample set had been made for the sole purpose of taking the picture, that might be quite a collector's item. I really hate the fact that the page is one big graphic; if it had been actual text in an HTML file, I could run it through a translator.)

    My untrained ear can't detect much difference between most of the songs on this version and the original soundtrack releases from when the games were on the SNES, but some people on the STC forums have said that the GBA music doesn't sound as good. In listening to the FF6 discs here, I do hear an obvious tinny sound in the high notes in Shadow's theme, a few off sounds in the main battle theme and the Figaro castle theme, and some really weird trembling in Cyan's theme. Those are just a few of the most obvious examples I can think of; if you ever listen to the music on these CDs, I'm sure you can find others. In my opinion, the SNES soundtrack versions do sound better.

    Like all other rare CDs, this can be found every so often on the Yahoo Japan auctions. Try searching for "FF Finest" in regular Roman characters or "FAINARU FANTAJII" in katakana and "Finest" in Roman chars.

    The scan of the slipcase above is a bit of a lie. (But the cake is not. ^_~ ) The name on the slipcase is actually far lighter than that, but I darkened it a lot in Photoshop to be able to see it. Same with my scan of the back of the slipcase.

    		Comes in a thick cardboard slipcase. Does NOT have an obi. The discs themselves come in a large, 6-disc holder that you can see on Square Enix's site. Printed on the inside of the holder is the orange art by Yoshitaka Amano that was used on the Grand Finale cover. On the holder's front inside cover is a message from Nobuo Uematsu. A separate booklet has the tracklist to all 6 CDs along with some Amano artwork. Also included is another booklet titled "Amano Yoshitaka Kajuu - Yoshitaka Amano Works 1991-2006" containing Amano artwork from all three games. Printed on the inside front cover of that booklet is a message from Amano.
