Contains music from the Final Fantasy IV game for the Super Nintendo (Super Famicom). The game has been re-released several times, but I believe the music does not change from game to game.

First pressing: Comes in a thick, cardboard folder-like case with the liner notes glued to the front cover. Does not have an obi. The layout of the liner notes is very different from the Squaresoft version, but the content is mostly the same. The liner notes have the tracklist in English and Japanese (kana) that spans 8 pages; a short summary of the game's storyline; and a message from Nobuo Uematsu. Each page of the liner notes has art by Yoshitaka Amano as the background.

Squaresoft version: Comes in regular jewel case. The liner notes have the same texts and tracklist as the first pressing, but with quite a few changes. For one, the tracklist was shrunk down and now takes up only 2 pages. Second, there is far less Amano art; the artwork has been cut down to just one picture of Cecil, two of Rosa, and one of Cecil and Golbez together. However, the art of Cecil is now in deeper color, and the pictures of Rosa are both full-body ones.

Tokyopop version: The CD is subheadlined "Music from Final Fantasy Chronicles." Liner notes contain: track list in English; a message about Final Fantasy that isn't credited to anyone; and an ad for Final Fantasy X. Includes bonus track. You can also get this CD offline at places like Babbages or Software Etc.

SonMay version: Comes in a regular jewel case. The liner notes are the same style as the first pressing. The liner notes have the tracklist in English and kana but do NOT include the message from Uematsu or 2 pages of staff credits that are in the first pressing. In the particular copy I have, the liner notes were printed incorrectly, so the tracklisting is mixed up. Also comes with a customer survey paper and an apparently random sticker. (One of my CDs came with a sticker of the FF4 OSV front cover; another came with a Dragon Quest sticker.)

EverAnime version: Comes in a regular jewel case. The liner notes are the same as the SS version. The CD has the picture of Cecil and Golbez printed on it. Also comes with a customer survey card.
