The jewel case is a double-CD case and is opaque white with "molds" of the main characters. Does NOT have a slipcase or an obi. The matte liner notes fit inside the jewel case. The limited edition comes with: five separate sheets of various FF9 character artwork drawn by Yoshitaka Amano, printed on textured paper and held together by a paper band that has the FF9 logo on it; a sticker with the FF9 logo; and a beige piece of sheet music with arrangement and lyrics in Japanese (kana) to "Melodies of Life." Also comes with a customer survey card. The liner notes include the tracklist in mixed English and kana; FMV screenshots from the game; a photo of Nobuo Uematsu; a message from Uematsu; lyrics to the English and Japanese versions of "Melodies of Life"; a short profile of Emiko Shiratori; and a picture of Uematsu and Shiratori. The tracklist is the same as the regular version. |
I'm assuming this is a "limited edition" because the picture on the slipcase is the same as the limited-edition SS version. Does NOT have an obi. Comes in a double-CD jewel case with slipcase. The glossy liner notes have the same content as the SS version, except that all company names have been removed from the credits. It also has the same 5 pieces of artwork (printed on glossy white paper) and the "Melodies of Life" sheet music (printed on white paper). And yes, the front of the jewel case is the side that has Eiko and Vivi on it. |
Interesting note: If you pry up the CD trays in the SS version (you can see Zidane and Vivi's faces through the prongs), you'll see more character artwork underneath.
Titles with a star ( * ) in front of it are also found on the FF9 Best Selection CD.
Related works: CDs with arranged music of FF9 music. Please check the FF9 regular edition page for related works. All arrangements of the FF Prelude, FF Prologue, the Victory Theme, and the Chocobo Theme are listed with the FF1 soundtrack.
